Kitchen is messed
need to get dressed
go now
Garden is waiting
day celebrating
come bow
Altar most striking
candle bush spiking
pray vow

You used the form well, though I got a little lost with the shift of focus in the last tercet. I agree this form is challenging, but brave poets go forth into the fray; smile

I like that the garden is waiting and the flowers are blooming – striking and spiking.
Thanks for joining our poetry form challenge.

Nice handling of a difficult challenge! (I had a little trouble getting from the garden to the altar too, but well done)

I really like the urgency of the opening lines, Jane, which is conveyed by the long and short lines, and the way the lai slows down with the thought of the garden and a day celebrating, even though the line lengths are pretty much the same, created by the use of the continuous form and the repetition of ‘ing’, like a bell chiming.

Kneeling to the church of the garden is a beautiful thing. You captured your love well here.

The nature is an altar of such… at least that is what I got from the transition.

Rush to do duties and yet pause to absorb the moment with thankfulness. Nice
