I folded and creased the paper
to make a fuselage
long and slender
overlapped side wings
hoping it would stay aloft
that it would be lifted
by a current of air
and fly forward
tailwind taking it further
before the landing

Wonderful paperwork, this. Thanks.
I used to LOVE making paper airplanes as a kid, Jane… my Dad taught me how, and I still associate the memory with him…
I love this, and can see it floating.
Before the crash…yes….and the next cycle…lovely verse
Love it. All those hopes and dreams we pin on a paper airplane. I also wrote a poem about a paper airplane once, similar idea: https://jewishyoungprofessional.wordpress.com/2021/04/11/its-just-paper/
You’re right, that very moment you let loose with it is pulsing potential of hope — every time!
