Now it is only a trickle of a stream
where boulder rocks and pebbles accumulate
no hint of water on their smoothness
a dry bed until the hard rains come
gathering a force that pushes land
creates a new course through the city streets

dVerse prompt on writing a quadrille using the word stream. Also recalling the flooding at Zion National Park and the water flowing through the streets.
We had some crazy flooding here last night, so I can visualize this easily. The desert doesn’t always know what to do with all that water, but it is soooo needed.

I can imagine this, Jane – Jerusalem is totally incapable of dealing with major rainfall, and a few years ago, the downtown streets were totally flooded!

My favorite hikes involve nature with lots of streams to cross, I love the feel, the look, the inspiration streams provide for lots of my poems. Well done!
